Description: The Blewett Pass Sno-park has many different options for winter wandering. One kid-friendly trail is to the south of the sno-park. There are some non-groomed ski trails that are marked with blue diamonds that wind through the trees. There is a summer trail here, so in low-snow periods, you’ll see the tops of signs poking out. You can follow the rolling Swauk Forest Discovery Trail through open forest, or walk on the roads, wandering as far as you’d like. My kids were thrilled because there is a fabulous hill right near the parking area for sledding down.
Directions: From Seattle, take I-90 east over Snoqualmie Pass. Take Highway 97 north toward Leavenworth. The sno-park is at the top of Blewett Pass, on the east side of the road (there are 2 other sno-parks that you’ll drive by before you get there.) You’ll need a sno-park pass (ungroomed) for this parking area. There are outhouses at the sno-park.
