The Hiker Mama

Kelsey Creek Farm

Distance: There are about 1 1/2 miles of trails in the park. The gravel loop around the farm is 0.9 miles.

Elevation Gain: Trails are flat to moderately steep.

Season: Year-round.

Description: In addition to pretty walking trails, this park also has barns and farm animals for viewing.  Children will enjoy the playground and picnic areas.  The trails are wide and gentle, but can be muddy in spots.  Paths cross over creeks and pass through wetlands and forest.  Birds are abundant. You can increase the distance you walk by connecting with the Lake-to-Lake Trail. The park is open daily from dawn to dusk; farm animals are available for viewing from 9 to 3:30 daily. My kids liked the bridges over creeks, the bird song, and the feel of being in the country.

Directions: From I-405, take the SE 8th Street exit (#12). Go east off the exit and follow the road through the light at Lake Hills Connector into a residential area. Turn left at stop sign (128th Ave SE). Turn right at next stop sign (SE 4th Pl). Follow to parking lot. You will not need a permit to park.
